Academic Session “Dutch Experience in Integral Water Management”.
Within the framework of the session, Henk Ovink, Special Envoy for International Water Affairs (the Netherlands) and Pablo Bereciartua, Secretary of Water Resources (Argentina), signed a cooperation agreement between both countries addressing the most relevant issues related to basin management.
The Academic Session was opened by Henk Ovink, Special Envoy for International Water Affairs (the Netherlands), Pablo Bereciartua, Secretary of Water Resources (Argentina), and the Dutch Ambassador in Argentina, Martin de la Beij.
The aim of this Academic Session was to enhance scientific cooperation between Argentina and the Netherlands. After a series of presentations held by Wageningen University & Research (WUR), Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), and IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, the discussion was organized in three tables. The first table was Water and Agro, chaired by Léontine Crisson (Agricultural Counselor for Argentina, Chile, Paraguay & Uruguay – Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Argentina). The second table was Water Quality and Sanitation, chaired by Ines Rzadzinska (Economic Counselor – Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Argentina). The third table was Adaptive Delta Management, chaired by Verónica Zagare (Delta Alliance Argentinean Wing Coordinator).
The participants of the Academic Session were Argentinean authorities, knowledge institutes and universities (INTA, INTI, INA, Facultad de Agronomía, Universidad Austral, Universidad de Buenos Aires, Delta Alliance Argentinean Wing, etc.) and Dutch scientific institutes and universities.
